Tines Capital will help you establish an account or link your current account at Interactive Brokers (IB or IBKR). What are the investment options?

For people that need conservative investments, we have portfolios that are about as conservative as you can find. For those that want to take on more risk, be aggressive, and aim for higher returns there are strategies available that are roughly 3X more aggressive than the typical stock heavy portfolio you would find with most institutions. Wherever you land on the risk/reward spectrum we can customize portfolios to suit your needs!

How much do I need to Start?

The average client starts with around $50,000 to $250,000, but Tines Capital has committed to help people at any stage and has no official minimum. However, to we recommend you don’t engage our paid services until you have $6,000 ready to invest upfront or $500 to contribute to your accounts per month. If you don’t have that much and are just trying to keep your head above water, keep in mind the Tines Capital Blog is free and you can submit finance questions via the Contact Page.

What will Tines Capital Charge Me?

Some other advisors get commissions based on which mutual fund or insurance policy they sell you. This can incentivize advisors to push clients towards inferior products with higher commissions. That doesn’t mean there can’t be a good commission based advisor out there, but that isn’t the model we like.

Tines Capital is a fee-only fiduciary, which means we don’t get any kickbacks from anyone to push you towards certain investment products, and since Tines Capital is a fiduciary we are obligated to put your interests first!

Some fee-only advisors will charge you 1% of your total net worth – not just the investments they manage. Tines Capital charges an annual fee based only on the balance of the investment accounts we manage for you. When your investments grow in value we make more money. When they shrink we make less money.

Passive strategies with regular rebalancing: 1% per year

Active, algorithmic, or leveraged strategies: 1% to 3% per year
